Mid-Michigan Agency, Inc operates in the Central Michigan area writing a balanced book of business consisting of personal lines (Home, Auto, Umbrella), Life Insurance, and small to medium commercial insurance. The agency has a history dating back to the mid-40’s.  In 1971 Byron ‘Bart’ Barton started the Agency from its former location at 312 Woodworth St in Alma. A couple decades later, Bart sold MMA to Ken and Sue MacDonald in 1994, and added the Don Arndt Agency in 1995, the Niles Agency in 1999, and The Highland Agency in 2002.  More recently son Jeremy and wife Katie purchased the Agency from Ken and Sue in 2015, and recently purchased the Lodewyk, Nesen, and McKim Agency in March of 2016. The main branch in Alma has been in its current location since 2003. Our goal is to continue a professional presence in the community through seminars and professional designations.  The agency was awarded the TQA (Total Quality Agency) designation and is a 5-Star Agent with Fremont Insurance. We believe the agency of the future will need to integrate automation, technology, and social media into the daily operation of an agency. Our company representation is entirely domestic and/or regional carriers that have a commitment to the Independent Agency system.
