Jeremy MacDonald - Agency Owner

One of the owners of Mid-Michigan Agency Jeremy ‘Rit’ MacDonald (along with wife Katie and parents Ken and Susan), known to many as Rit since his elementary days, has been a part of the agency since 1995, and as a licensed agent since 1998.
Rit also holds his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation from The National Alliance. Rit serves in an ownership capacity of the agency while growing the Property and Casualty side as well as Life Insurance.
A 1993 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Rit went on to graduate from Central Michigan University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree while working at the Agency throughout college. An avid sports fan, Rit has coached baseball for over 20 years from T-Ball to college with his alma mater CMU.
Currently, Rit serves on the board of directors of the Professional Insurance Agents of Michigan as well as the Mt Pleasant Little League. Rit deals with nearly all lines of insurance and is happy to help with anyone who wants to sit down and review their coverage or attempt to have a better understanding of what’s important to the consumer when buying their own coverage.
Ken MacDonald - Agency Founder

Ken’s contributions to the insurance world began in 1964 after leaving the Air Force with the Continental Insurance Companies in Chicago.
He went on to work as a Marketing Representative for Wisconsin and Michigan Agents for Austin St Paul Mutual Insurance in 1966. In 1972 Ken relocated to the area as a Marketing Rep for Hamilton Mutual Insurance. He continued on with Hamilton Mutual for over 26 years.
In 1994, Ken and Susan purchased Mid-Michigan Agency in Alma and Susan operated the day to day, while Ken continued with the company side. He also went on to work for Fremont Insurance in the early 2000’s before coming in to the Agency on a full time basis.
Ken was a two time PIA Marketing Representative of the Year (1974, 1984) as well as a President of the Michigan 1752 Club. Ken has coached baseball for several decades with his children and grandchildren, and volunteers in many aspects of the Sacred Heart Athletic Association, including a past President and current pillar of the Lenten Fish Fries. He was also president of the Mt. Pleasant Little League from 1989 to 1994.
Susan MacDonald

Sue also brings over 30 years of experience to the Agency. When her and Ken purchased the Mid-Michigan Agency in 1994, she ran the daily operations while Ken continued on the road on the Company side.
She then doubled her duties with the acquisition of the Don Arndt Agency in 1995. Sue enjoys travel and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Katie MacDonald

Katie has been in the Insurance Industry for over a decade working for The Auto Club Group (AAA) and subsequently for Mid-Michigan Agency as she owns and operates with her husband and in-laws.
Katie worked on the company side for AAA as a Territory Sales Manager calling on agents throughout the state of Michigan, and currently anchors the Shepherd location along with Judy Steere. She focuses on personal lines and is licensed for Life and Health as well as P&C.
Mandy Thompson

Mandy is also a lifelong resident of the area growing up in St. Louis and attending St. Louis High School.
She is married with two children and started her insurance career at Lodewyk, Nesen, and McKim in January 2014. She also joined Mid-Michigan Agency on Feb 1, 2016 and handles many facets of customer service, quoting, endorsements, payments, and claim assistance.
She also works in the Medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant dating back to 1998. Mandy enjoys watching baseball, camping, and the outdoors.
Carrie Whitehead

A lifelong resident of the area, Carrie worked in the banking and credit union industry for 18 years, handling a variety of tasks including life insurance. She joined MMA in 2016 and has been a licensed Property & Casualty producer since then. Carrie’s focus is Farms like the one she grew up on, as well as personal lines and customer relations. In her spare time, Carrie enjoys tending to her garden and farming her over 400 acres in the area. She’s happy to help wherever she can.
Danielle Stanley

Danielle is from Carson City and has worked in the Insurance Industry for over 16 years. She began her career with John Hancock and worked with Mid-Michigan Agency in Alma for 10 years and is now moving to the Shepherd location of Mid-Michigan Agency. Her primary focus is Property and Casualty, however will be broadening her scope to include Life and Health Insurance.
Danielle's biggest achievement in life is her family. She married her high school sweetheart, together they have two teenage boys. Her hobbies include Tiger’s baseball, hunting, fishing, golfing, watching her children participate in sports and relaxing at the family cottage in Crystal.
Regan Walden - Agent/CSR

Regan is a lifelong member of the central Michigan area, and has spent time in Health Care and Insurance. Arriving in the summer of 2021, Regan is integral in providing the daily needs of our clients, from endorsements to quoting to processing, she is a friendly, welcoming presence.
